About Eric Eager

Eric Eager has been part of the Richardson ISD community for over 45 years. He and his wife both attended RISD, and their twins completed their K–12 education in the district. Eric has been deeply involved in district leadership and planning, serving on the RISD 5 Year Strategic Planning Design Team in 2017 and 2023, the Facilities Planning Committee, the 6th Grade Transformation Committee, and as a board member of the RISD Foundation, among other roles. He is also a graduate of Leadership Richardson and remains active in numerous local organizations, while his wife, Brenna, is an award-winning PTA leader.

 

As a CPA with a degree in Accounting and a Master’s in Taxation, Eric brings valuable financial expertise to the Board and is prepared to ask the tough questions about the district’s budget. In addition, he is a successful entrepreneur who has spent decades building international companies, giving him a strong understanding of the needs of today’s workforce and the demands of an increasingly competitive job market.

The Right Priorities for Richardson ISD

• Successfully advocated to add $102 million in additional federal funds to prioritize closing post-pandemic learning loss gaps

 

• Supported passage of $750 million investment in upgrading aging campuses

 

• Supported the creation of Graduate Profiles, better equipping our students with opportunities to succeed

• Supported over $36 million in teachers and support staff retention incentives and raises

 

• Led the effort to create the 2022-2023 Thank a Teacher Program to support and  boost morale

• Supported a new student cell phone policy,  giving teachers an additional hour of instruction and improving student discipline
